The test can identify numerical and structural chromosome abnormalities by means of high-resolution karyotype analysis (RTBG, ~550-850 bands) from at least 20 metaphases, following a short-term culture of 48-72 hours. In cases where mosaicism is suspected, a minimum of 100 metaphases are analyzed. Sampling is performed after the 20th week of gestation and during the 3rd trimester of pregnancy.

This test may also be applied in combination with:
- Extended Prenatal Panel (EPP)
- Molecular karyotype (microarray CGH)
