Deletion 9p21.3 detected by MLPA

Deletion 9p21.3 of chromosome 9 occurs in acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) with a frequency of ~10% and typically includes the CDKN2A-2B genes.

The detection is based on a custom MLPA technique, using multiple probes in the region under investigation.

This test may also be applied in combination with:

  • Karyotyping of bone marrow cells, combined with molecular detection of multiple chromosomal rearrangements
  • Multicolor karyotype (M-FISH)
